Photography

I've been taking photos since I was a kid. My first camera was a Girl Scout camera that used 127 roll film. I ended up taking it apart to see how it worked. In high school I talked my way into the darkroom and ended up being a photographer for the newspaper and yearbook. I attended seminars put on by the Kansas City Star and studied photos taken by Margaret Bourke Smith, Rich Clarkson, David Douglas Duncan and others. I'm still learning today, still attending seminars, reading and talking to other photographers. Some days I should toss my cameras in the lake, some days I get the shot I want.

What am I using these days?

I jumped into the digital world with an Apple 150 digital camera, then bought a Nikon Coolpix 950. It's a neat camera in that you can rotate the viewfinder, so you can include yourelf in photos quite easily! Next was a Canon Digital Rebel (300D) and I've added a couple more bodies. (There's always something newer, better, faster...) I've aquired an assortment of lenses and have become an "L glass" addict. It's always something. I keep working to get better, but it's that talent thing.

Galleries

Old, new, just way too many photos. I'm sure there's a better way to set up the gallery area, but I haven't figured that out yet...
